Synnex Technology International Corporation Steps into Turkish Market

Redington in India of Synnex Technology International Corporation recently signed a sales and purchase contract with Arena, the second-largest IT product logistics company in Turkey. In this contract, Redington acquired 49.9% of Arena, marking Synnex Technology International Corporation's step into Turkey and opening the gateway for its access to Eastern Europe.

Located at the Eurasian border, Turkey has a population of over 70 million people. Over the past decade, the local IT product CAGR was 22%. In 2009, the overall IT market scale in Turkey was US$6.6 billion, making it the second largest in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and one of the most eminent emerging markets in the region.

Established in 1991, Arena is the second-largest IT product logistics company in Turkey, with an annual sales turnover of NT$4.5 billion in 2009. The product lines of Arena include both consumer electronics and commercial IT products. The major product brands include HP, Acer, IBM, Fujitsu-Siemens, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, Seagate, Sony and NEC. With over 7,500 contract resellers, Arena dominates over 80% of the local IT channels, with operational capacity and service quality approved by both original manufacturers and customers.

Synnex Technology International Corporation develops its global logistics business with a focus on Asia-Pacific, with North America, India, the Middle East and North Africa as the wings. In 2009, the scale of Synnex Technology International Corporation's global operations reached US$18.5 billion. In addition to aggressively establishing logistics centers in Asia-Pacific to push business expansion, Synnex Technology International Corporation began expanding its reach outside of Asia-Pacific by establishing through its JVs in the USA and India in recent years to continuously expand its global territory.
