Featuring Many Advanced Technologies: Night Vision, Explosion-Proof, Salt Fog-Proof

Global rugged computer manufacturer Getac today announces the release of the sixth generation Getac B300 fully rugged notebook. The industry-leading B300 is equipped with the latest Intel 6th Generation Core™ i5/i7 processors, supporting Windows 10, to offer the safest, most advanced, ultra-rugged mobile computing solution on the market. This upgrade not only improves computing efficiency, but also offers smoother multimedia downloading with the Intel®HD 520 graphics card. Protection against hacking is also strengthened. The sixth-gen B300 emphasizes a low power consumption design, providing 15 hours of usage on a single battery and up to 30 hours with an optional second battery to enhance productivity and efficiency for professional users outdoors.

Combining many innovative technologies offered in Getac’s rugged computers, the B300 is a classic model with advanced technologies that other models in its class simply cannot compare to. These technologies include the industry’s first filterless night vision mode, ANSI explosion-proof certification, and salt fog shielding, as well as rich peripheral expansion capabilities, including PCMCIA, ExpressCard, SD card reader, three USB 3.0 ports, and RS232 and VGA ports. The B300 is perfect for vertical markets with complex environmental challenges, such as national defense, public security, emergency relief, and field services. The notebook offers expanded flexibility and scope of applications through the option to connect various peripherals such as diagnostic test systems, mapping equipment, and satellite signal receivers.

James Hwang, Getac Chairman, indicates that as cloud computing applications become popular, many government and enterprise users will take information security more seriously. The new generation B300 notebooks offer enterprise-grade security. Professional users can choose the Intel® Core™ vPro™ processor which uses the latest Intel authentication technology and supports the Windows 10 operating system, TPM 2.0, a smart card reader, finger print recognition and other security systems. With multi-factor authentication solutions, enterprise users are protected from illegal access and confidential data breach.

For mobile users who require networking capabilities, the B300 is equipped with the latest Intel Wireless-AC 8260 wireless network card which supports 802.11ac and offers Bluetooth 4.2 technology and optional GPS. Other options to choose from include RF dual pass through (WWAN/GPS), vehicle dock, and office dock, ensuring speed and stable internet connections anywhere, anytime. The B300’s ruggedness meets several certifications including MIL-STD 810G, IP65, and MIL-461F, and ensures -29°C to 60°C operating capabilities.
