Getac Technology Corporation (Getac)

Getac Technology Corporation, a key subsidiary of MiTAC-Synnex Business Group, was established in 1989 as a joint venture with GE Aerospace to supply defence electronic products. Getac's business coverage includes; rugged notebooks, rugged tablet PCs and rugged handheld devices for military, police, government, communications, manufacturing and transportation applications ranging from fully rugged to commercial-grade rugged. Getac's strong R&D capabilities allow it to provide a high level of customisation and all-aspect hardware-software integration solutions. Apart from the rugged computing business, Getac is also involved with the design and manufacture of plastic and lightweight metal components. The acquisition of Waffer Technology in 2009 has made Getac the world's third largest aluminum-magnesium alloy producer.

2018	Acquired WHP Workflow Solutions LLC. to develop Getac Video Solutions for public safety, transportation and field service application.
2017	Establish sales and marketing office in France for Getac rugged computing products.
2016	Getac signs leading European distributor, Ingram Micro to expand reach and reseller community across Western Europe. Partner up with DHL to provide logistic and repairing service for Getac customers in the EMEA region. Getac was ranked as the one of the top 35 most valuable International Taiwanese brands in the Interbrand 2016 Taiwan Top Global Brand Valuation League Table.
2015	Invest WHP Workflow Solutions LLC to enhance HW and SW integration business strategy.
2014	Getac launched sub-brand- VERETOS mobile digital surveillance System in US. (Renamed VERETOS brand to Getac in 2017) Establish sales and marketing office in India for Getac rugged computing products. Establish sales and marketing office in Russia for Getac rugged computing products.
2013	Getac was selected by Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs to participate the “small and medium size enterprise cultivation project”.as one of the couselling object to by Taiwan government counseling project to assist small and medium enterprise. Getac V100-Ex2 Fully Rugged convertible notebook received Taiwan Excellence Awards.
2012	Launch the first Android platform Handheld Device PS236 Android.
2011	Launch the first Rugged Smartphone MH132.
2010	V100,PS535 received Taiwan Excellence Award. Increased share holdings and became largest shareholder of National Aerospace Fasteners Corporation. Received the Industrial Technology Advancement Award – Excellent Enterprise. Innovation Award from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
2009	Expanded component module business by acquiring the stake of Waffer Technology Corp., the world's third largest Mg-Al mechanical parts manufacturer. Acquired shareholdings of Waffer Precision Metallic Technologies (ChangShu) Co., Ltd. Renamed Company English name to Getac Technology corporation Expanded component module business by acquiring the stake of Waffer Technology Corp., the world's third largest Mg-Al mechanical parts manufacturer.
